“I have been attending Katie’s classes since 2016. I wanted to be fit for before my 30th birthday but didn’t realise how much I would get from Katie and her classes. “I approached Katie for some advice with regards my diet in 2020. I am in my 50’s and have always led an active and healthy lifestyle, and eaten a varied and balanced diet but in the past 6 months I had had bouts of bloating and general discomfort with my digestion and I had also put on a few pounds and was finding it difficult to lose them. Before my initial consultation Katie asked me to keep a food and exercise diary for a few days and send this to her before we met. When we met she was very methodical and structured with her questions, asking me about my symptoms, lifestyle, food likes and dislikes, exercise, sleep patterns, etc. She made me feel very at ease – her questions were clear, she listened well and she did not pass comment as she gathered information from me. During the second half of the consultation, Katie talked me through some ideas to change my diet and improve my symptoms. This included looking at different food groups and ensuring more variety in my diet (e.g. she pointed out I was low in protein in my diet), increasing my water (and reducing my coffee!), various natural supplements I could consider and we also discussed the timing of when I eat. Katie’s feedback was excellent – some points seemed obvious but I just needed to be reminded and many I had not considered before. Rather than bombard me with loads of changes to make to my diet and supplements to buy, she suggested small, manageable changes to what I was already doing and introduced some new foods into my diet. After the consultation she sent me further information to support what we had discussed and we concluded with a follow up session a few months later. During this follow up session we discussed a few additional ideas I could consider and also what had and hadn’t worked for me since our first session. Katie gave me alternatives to consider introducing into my diet and some more ideas to build on. I have no hesitation in recommending Katie to anyone looking for some guidance with diet and exercise. ”
